[Geowanking] urban areas database

Hi friends,

In case it might be useful to anyone - I worked with some UN Population Division statistics recently, and in the process I geocoded all the urban areas in the stats. I thought I could release this enhanced database to the community, to give something back for all the great free resources that I use in my daily life.

The data is here, and I have smacked a CC license on the database. It is available for download in various formats, and I also created an animation video clip, a kml-file and a nice looking map.

The data contains a database of large urban areas for the whole world, 1950-2050.
