Very cool - I wrote something very similar yesterday morning in Ruby
Camping- just hadn't posted it. But I didn't have a fancy-schmancy map
;)

I'm probably doing a presentation on OpenSearch & Geo at FooCamp -
mind if I use your demonstrator?
