[Geowanking] Web-based Map Rectification

I don't have a use case now, but this is a cool feature and I reckon
sometime within the next 5 years I'm likely to want to use it. And at
that point, I'd be hoping the code is available to me to hack.
Ideally, a Rectification tool should be incorprated as a feature in all
OpenSource Geospatial clients.
Heavy clients (UDig, QGIS, etc) would want to incorporate the
functionality directly into their code.
AJAX clients (OpenLayers, Mapbuilder etc) would want to access the
functionality as a Web Service.
