[Geowanking] GPX Tracklog Viewer

Hi Jim,

This is really great stuff! I can see possibilities for displaying
additional (geolocated) info (e.g. POIs, media) based on a general
observer/listener pattern. So for example, in GeoSkating
(www.geoskating.com) I have media related to locations. By registering a
"callback" for a list of locations (each with opaque user data
e.g.object id's) while the trail is moving on each callback I could
display media related to the position. Registration options could be to
halt the player during callback, and to be resumed by observer. A sort
of local LBS. It could also be simpler, just callbacks with locations to
listeners who can then decide what to do (displaying media, time,
elevation, POIs whatever).

Other: a "player-controller" (start, stop, pause, faster/slower etc).

I think also live tracking could be easily realized using this
technology. For example I currently use Pushlets (www.pushlets.com,
Javascript Server push) for this matter.

Would like to learn how you programmed this (peeking into
http://jibbering.com/mapping right now...) and if you always need GMaps.

best,
