The MILES Project (no I had not heard of them either) has put together a
virtual seminar (read online discussion) around a couple of topics:
- Recent advances in open GIS software
<http://miles.asmoz.org/index.php?option=com_simpleboard&Itemid=27&func=showcat&catid=4>
- Practical experiences of adopting EMIS at the local level
<http://miles.asmoz.org/index.php?option=com_simpleboard&Itemid=27&func=showcat&catid=5>
- Mechanisms to help cities to implement an EMIS
<http://miles.asmoz.org/index.php?option=com_simpleboard&Itemid=27&func=showcat&catid=6>

Apparently a lot of the open source types are in attendance, along with
200 subscribers.
Not quite sure who else is there as they have not introduced themselves ...

Apparently they are having trouble getting conversation going. Recent
topics have been:
-  U.N. 1000 cities programme - with Open Source?
- EMIS experiences supported by UNHabitat SCP/LA2

I know this list is about getting stuff done, and this seminar smacks of
not getting anything done. If you have a moment drop in and say hi,
apparently they are interested in know who is around.
