Hi list,
as for the meeting name, I always had the impression that the society of
this list was moving somehow at the margin of the general Spatial Info
society. Hacking bits and pieces here and there, some of which got wider
adoption, without actually knowing where they originated...
Somehow reminds me of the Strugackij sci-fi book "Roadside picnic".
LEftovers from the picnic (products) may/may not be used/abused later by
the general GIS mainstream. THerefore roadside, and picnic is anyway a
nice informal gathering in the open space...
Wouldn't that be a name for the meeting?
