[Geowanking] local search statistics

Hi List,
I desperately need to find a source of internet statictisc linking the 
users of map search engines/intineraries and finding the correlation 
between the target and the location of the searcher. In plain language: 
Who searches more? "tourists" from far away or locals, that need to find 
a place in their own town?
Does anybody have a clue?? Thanks a lot!
