At very least New York State has taken very recent Color Orthographic
photos at 30cm resolution per pixel. I'm in the process of taking a
copy of my county's pictures, and am splitting them up into 200x200
tiles ala terraserver's tiles. The program that I wrote takes a pile
of maps with world files, and creates a set of tiles that cover those
maps. This is for use with my 'mapview' program. I'll also write a
web service which hands out those tiles for use with Jef Poskanser's
mapper.acme.com.
