The A-List aint all its craked up to be.

I'll take the Ghetto any day.

I did wonder about the name "Geowanking" when I first heard about the list, but I described anyways, and the conversation so far has been great.

Just curious, what does "wanking" mean in Non-US-English.

Thanks Jim. this is true, but there's something comfortable about the
candor of the dialog here, sheltered by a disreputable name.

The list name hasn't prevented lots of great ideas and memes discussed
on geowanking to escape and morph into real projects, real
collaborations, real friends in the real world.

My original point was: if you want to invited to A-List conferences,
you have to get on the A-List. This is the G-ghetto.
