Geowankers -by name, probably simply because of the name geowankers-
were publically discouraged from participating in a very high profile
geo event recently [which I won't name] despite the extraordinary
professional, technical and creative accomplishments in digital geo
arts, sciences and technology by many people on the geowanking list.
Ultimately, there was a mild back channel retraction, but no public
apology or explicit acknowledgement of expertise of people on this
list who aren't embarrased by a silly self deprecating name.
