I agree, but I wasn't clear.  The OGR library already has a GML driver, 
so if a GMAP driver was added to OGR a person could write a WFS 
connector to the Google Maps API.  You could even just rebuild ogr2ogr 
and exec out the translation. 

Just thinking of ways to extend the geospatial web ...
