Oh my gosh.... I'm so excited! The author of GPS TrackMaker, Odilon 
Ferreira Junior, just informed me that the new beta version of his 
software supports GPX. So, forget about my questions. I just found the 
answer.

I tried it with a few tracks I made one night and it worked like a charm.
