[Geowanking] introductions

Hello there,

I'm May. I'm a GIS / GPS / GEO newbie...but am interested in the potential
use of these technologies in games - the kind that get you outside running
around :) And I'm somewhat of a map junkie.

I used to work in architecture...buildings, not software...if you ever have
to sit in the auditorium at Microsoft in Mountain View or the executive
conference room or any of the AV spaces, you're sitting in rooms I designed.
(not so thrilling actually but that's what I spent 2 years on).

I do UI and graphic design now...and am trying to teach myself Java (for
fun!)

Sometimes I help a friend with a site called Hiptop Nation (a communal
wireless weblog...some people call it a "moblog" but I don't really like
that word. "Mob" has bad connotations no matter how you use it and "blog"
makes me think of an alien life form). Think there are lots of
location-tagging, geo-gaming possibilities there.

It was great meeting some of you at ETCON! It was my first time ever and my
head is swimming with possibilities! :)

May
